We are currently located in Richmond, Va and armed with a 1960's Sunbeam Mixmaster and a passion for all things Mid-Century, we are a husband and wife team on a mission to make baked goods delicious again! Brandon, a collector of Mid-Century furniture and home decor, and Miki, with a sweet tooth and love of baking, have set to pair the two together, making sweet treats that bring the taster back to the time of greasers and sock hops.

We are truly a small business, doing everything ourselves from baking, to packaging and branding. After tasting many cupcakes up and down the east coast, we wanted to bring something different to this classic confection. What's old is new again in our many recipes and flavors. We use only the best ingredients and have painstakingly worked to ensure that our products are top quality.

What’s with the name?

Our name “Atomic” Bakery is derived from the 1950’s slang referencing space age or futuristic. During the 1950’s anything bright, colorful, or modern used the term “Atomic” to define the era. We hope to wow you with our fantastic feats of frosting!  Please become a fellow Cupcake Cosmonaut and friend us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter.

We had a blast playing dress-up and shooting in this remodeled 1950's kitchen. Thanks to Nancy B. of MD for the use of this fabulous space!
